Did you ever implement your created world in a video game?

For artists, writers, gamemasters, musicians, programmers, philosophers and scientists alike! The creation of new worlds and new universes has long been a key element of speculative fiction, from the fantasy works of Tolkien and Le Guin, to the science-fiction universes of Delany and Asimov, to the tabletop realm of Gygax and Barker, and beyond. This subreddit is about sharing your worlds, discovering the creations of others, and discussing the many aspects of creating new universes.

I know that text only games might seem old and boring, but I am really trying my best to revive this lost craft. I've been making the art, game design, programming and world building on my own for some time, but I became so used to everything, that only someone else can help me with the blind spots

I'm working on a retro sword-and-sorcery video game, in York! The game is text only as it's designed to be available to blind gamers. I'd love to share what I've already done with fantasy (video game and book) enthusiasts and maybe get some feedback.

I've made a free game inspired by Sword and Sorcery adventures. It's called Greydark and it plays like a short pulp story. Contrary to most RPGs nowadays, you will see no numbers, even if there is an XP system in place. It should take 15 minutes, at most, to finish. The link is in the comments.

Here we discuss the "sword and sorcery" tradition of fantasy literature, which includes Robert E. Howard, C.L. Moore, Fritz Leiber, Jack Vance, Michael Moorcock, Karl Edward Wagner, David C. Smith, Gary E. Gygax, and many more. “Sword and sorcery” emphasizes active protagonists, supernatural menaces, and preindustrial (mostly ancient and medieval) settings. Sword and sorcery continues to influence visual art, fantasy RPGs, CRPGs, film, comics, music, and much more. No AI art.

I'm designing a text-only RPG and I want to avoid design choices that make it feel more like a game and less like a story that you are a part of. What would be your take on this?
