[LAST UPDATE] Derm said : “Don’t wash face at night”
Hello ! This will be my last update.
I'm sorry for the late (promised) update on the condition of my skin after almost 2 months of not using cleanser at night as part of a new routine suggested by my dermatologist. This routine is : cleanser and moisturizer in the AM, splash of water and tret (name : Treclinax) in the PM. Yeah, no sunscreen (that was a big debate on my last two posts) because Belgium has UV index = 0 for months in the winter. It's important to know that I have very sensitive and dry skin, hence why my derm suggested less cleansing.
So, now that I summarized the important info, let's get to it : I'm using micellar water in the evening now. I rince it immediately after with water and then apply tret. I started doing this almost 3 weeks ago, completely by accident. I was on vacation in the mountains and needed to put on sunscreen because it was sunny. I couldn't wash it off with basic tap water, so I used micellar water and tap water afterwards. After a few days, the "purge" I had on my jawline disappeared completely. When I got back, I stopped using sunscreen and micellar water, and my skin became worse again (jawline only). I picked micellar water back up for the evenings only and everything has been smooth sailing since : NOT ONE SINGLE PIMPLE. I HAVE CLEAR SKIN NOW AFTER A DECADE OF ACNE.
To summarize, no cleansing in the evening (water only) helped me get rid of my cheeks acne and using micellar water did the same thing on my jawline. If you have dry and sensitive skin like me, I recommmend trying to ease up on the cleansing. Good luck to you all for your skin journey. May clear skin find you too.
