Build 42 keeps freezing

I have a hp pavilion laptop that runs off windows and I have been trying to run build 42 but it keeps on freezing about 30 seconds into the main menu I have run project zomboid on this computer before and games like dead by daylight so I don’t think its not able to run it does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do or what the issue is? Thank you
