Is Vanilla extract halal?

I've been a little confused as to whether or not to use this for my baking or not. I've seen differing opinions. Now, mind you, I'm not gonna buy vodka, vanilla pods and make it myself. I'm talking specifically about this one.

"Our Dr. Oetker Vanilla Extract is made from real Madagascan vanilla bean pods, which are renowned for delivering the best all round vanilla flavour. Vanilla will enhance the creamy and sweet flavours in your cakes, desserts and icings. We use a sugar syrup base rather than alcohol, so it is suitable for cold preparations, such as desserts and icings.

We macerate vanilla beans in a hydro-alcoholic solvent and evaporate the ethyl alcohol, resulting in a vanilla concentrate diluted in invert sugar. We can't guarantee zero residual alcohol; the final product may contain up to 0.5% alcohol."

I just had a piece of cake where somebody used this, and I'm so unsure now tbh.
