Dog tongue plant has brown leaves

I got this Kalanchoe thyrsiflora from Trader Joe’s yesterday. I have never cared for this plant before nor am I well versed in succulents. I noticed some of her leaves are turning brown—the soil is very dry currently but have no idea how she was being cared for before.

The pot has drainage and I haven’t watered her yet because I want to be sure of the issue before diving in. I currently have the plant facing my northern window that gets lots of indirect sunlight.

Do yall have any tips or suggestions?
