Anyone else got some older films they're watching before the Oscars as well?
This year I'm starting off in the best position I've ever been for the death race: 13 feature length films to go plus all 15 shorts. So as I'm always eager to catch up on films I haven't seen I thought I'd choose a few that give relevant context to this year's nominated films, either through previous works of the nominees or relevant subject matter. For example:
- Watching I'm Not There to pre-game for A Complete Unknown (Did this before nominations were announced)
- Watching The Pianist for The Brutalist
- Watching Central Station for I'm Still Here
- Watching Tangerine for Anora
- Watching The Two Popes for Conclave
- Watching Crash for Emilia Perez
Anyone else planning to do a similar thing? What older films would you choose?
