Individual QR codes for event tickets?
I've agreed to help out a small company in my tiny home town with various paper prints. I'm a graphic designer, and my strength is definitely in the visual department, but the company had certain issues with a previous concert of people forging tickets. Every ticket had a unique number, and only about 300 tickets were printed, but the entrance staff were too busy to check numbers one by one. In the end they discovered that oh damn... there sure were a lot of people entering using the exact same ticket number...
It's not actually my responsibility as a graphic designer to sort out the problem for them, but I'd like to at least explore some options to present the possibility to them. QR codes that can only be scanned once and then are rendered "spent" would be one type of solution, with the QR codes being imported automatically through scripts so each printed ticket has its own (but that should be doable with my current Adobe softwares so I'm not worried about that part). The better way would of course be to do all this with smartphone tickets only, but the community is like 75% seniors who are already struggling with the concept of touch screens.
Anyone have any tips? I can find some info online about it, but mostly it seems to be regarding singular dynamic QR codes printed on promotional bilboards and posters, and then limiting the amount of scans to a certain number, which is not helpful in my particular case.
