Cracked front screen for iPad Pro 13

I feel so devastated and stupid for leaving my iPad on the couch, my partner accidentally sat on it and the screen cracked.

Now I learned the hard way that I should’ve added Apple care, because without it— repair will cost about 2,000 dollars as per the techs from Apple.

I’m going to try to contact my credit card if it’s eligible for purchase protection but I doubt it will be as it’s past the 90 days from purchase date.

What is the best action if anyone has been on the same situation?

My iPad is still working and I’m thinking I can just put a glass protector and use it even with the crack as it’s not that crazy. But if there’s any other solution, I would definitely be taking it.
