Torpor or dead?
My dad found this hummingbird under a tree hanging onto a leaf and assumed it was dead and placed it in our green waste bin with th lid open, after i did some research I figured it could be asleep, so i moved it somewhere a wild animal couldn’t get it in case it is in torpor, but I’m no expert, we read that its body temp can go 50 degrees below its typical temp of 102-104 degrees, we have a laser thermometer and its at 67 degrees. Is this death or torpor?
