Tips on staying safe on dating apps?

So I’m 18, I’m a gay ftm. I joined grindr and had a decent convo but also so many dick pics as expected. I was thinking of joining tinder for something more serious, what are some extra ways I can keep myself safe?

Going to meet anyone i choose in a public place, and no one over 20. I’ll also tell people where I’m going and keep my location shared with friends while updating them.

I work at a convenience store, and am honestly nervous that one of my regulars is going to recognize me on grindr or something.

Should I take any more precautions? I know dating apps are a spooky place but I need some dick.
