What makes William Afton a "sympathetic villain"?

So i've been on tiktok lately, and i've been hearing a lot of stuff about William being a sympathetic/ tragic villain... and I don't see it.

Maybe it's something in the comics, but I don't find this guy sympathetic at all, no matter what actively happened to him, can't justify all the horrid things he's done.
