Are missionaries even allowed to

Call people they meet by their first names, or even "Mr./Mrs. Jones"?

I'm not Mormon, nor was anyone in my family UNTIL they suckered in my cousin, who lives in another state.

On my last visit, some missionaries stopped by the house to visit. How convenient. As a guest, I couldn't tell them to buzz off. I introduced myself by saying, "hi! I'm ' Bob's' cousin, Jane Doe. It's nice to meet you." They introduced themselves as Elder X and Elder Y.

The first time they referred to me as "sister Doe, "I told them "oh, just call me Jane".

They simply couldn't do it. Are they just SO out of touch that they think there might be somebody out there who, even though the person has already said they aren't a member of the LDS Church, isn't going to become one, and is therefore their "sister"??

Or is it just a rule?

BTW: these guys were American. I think one was from Utah.

Do I win any sort of prize for not asking them, ("So, Elder X, do you find you enjoy the Missionary position?"

If there IS a prize for refrain from asking this one question, I think Price should be a nice, cold, vodka martini!
