Purchased a new Grand Vitara Zeta CNG
Okay so after driving a petrol car for nearly a decade we brought home a CNG. Initially we went to Nexa/Toyota to check out the strong hybrid versions but the people at both the places somehow convinced us to buy the CNG versions (maybe because the strong hybrid versions are exempted from road tax in UP, idk why they pressed so hard). Anyone CNG felt like a more sound decision. We had all the features that we needed for a significantly less price (including extra discounts )compared to the strong hybrid versions.
However, we are nomads in the world of CNG cars. We don’t really know if this was really a sound decision. We don’t know how to take care of a CNG car. We don’t know how to run it till it’s first service. We don’t know the extent to which we can push it.
Therefore, I have some questions.
We do know that it is cheap to run and as a result I have already put 700 Kms on it (just) within a period of 4 days. It is a problem? Will this affect the engine, or the fuel efficiency?
Tried to keep it under 60 kmph but my senior drove it once for a fair stretch of 6-7 km and drove it on the third and fourth gear only, taking it beyond 80 kmph. The RPM was past 3 on third gear and we were going 60 kmph. I am sure it wouldn’t have caused any harm but still do I need to worry? (He also stalled it for like 100 times)
We have driven it on CNG mostly. Someone said that I should drive it on petrol for first few weeks. Should I?
I have heard alot of people talk about the pressure at CNG pumps. I have BPCL right next to my apartment. The first time I got the cylinder full, it was from a IGL pump which our dealer suggested (also gave us vouchers). Second time I got it from the nearby BPCL pump. This time the cylinder depleted very quickly. I only drove it for like 160 km. Third time I went to BPCL again. This time I got the cylinder full, paid the same amount and when I drove off I noticed that my meter showed 1/6th-1/8th of the cylinder empty. What is this?
I was driving on a jam packed road and I was on CNG. On the last point. I was low on petrol too. I thought I would make it home with the amount I was left with (using the petrol logic) but no. It quickly went empty within minutes. Very quick compared to other points. Why?
Also, additional advices are always invited.
