UBE Transfer Experience

Hey everyone! I hope those of you getting ready for F25 are crushing it, wishing everyone the best.

J24 taker here, didn’t pass in Texas and transferred my score to Minnesota because I want to do immigration law. I didn’t see too many posts on here about people’s experiences transferring their UBE score so just wanted to make this post to share my experience.

I applied to transfer my score on October 22nd, I chose Minnesota because what I could find online indicated that they were one of the faster states to do a transfer and there wasn’t a requirement to be sworn in in-person or to take a state specific law course. By the second week of November the MN BLE got back to me with things I needed to follow up on.

It took me a crazy long time to have a former employer complete the reference and to get a background clearance but I was finally able to submit both last week and got word earlier today that my application was approved.

Communication with the board was a breeze, they were very understanding about the delays and were always quick to reach back out if I had any questions. I think the whole process could have taken just a month or two if it wasn’t tricky for me to track those items down.
