If I like Jackman’s Wolverine, will I also like comic Wolverine?

I’ve recently started watching a lot of Wolverine media for the first time. Like a handful of Fox X-men movies, The Wolverine (2013), Logan, and a D&W.

I gotta say, Wolverine is awesome. I don’t know why an immortal Canadian with knives in his hands appeals to me, but he just does. I’ve also wanted to start getting into comics, and I thought a good place to start would be with Wolverine.

Thing is, I’m wondering if Hugh’s Wolverine is slightly different to that of the source material, since I’ve heard some people say as much. So I’m curious if my love for Hugh’s portrayal will carry over to the comic portrayal.

(P.S. Also I’ll take any Wolverine comic recommendations to get started).
