Found Painting in Attic Wrapped in Bedding

My sister found this painting in the corner of her attic. She’s lived in her house a while, and thinks this might be from even a few owners ago. Can anyone tell me anything about it that could give insight? It has a metal frame, maybe Chinese characters? Thank you!
