Slow and steady. Just stay the course, even if you're not a super responder.

This post is just to encourage those who aren't "super responders." My first injection of Wegovy was September 21, 2024. I have been following the titration schedule exactly, and started 1.7 this week.

It's been about 13 weeks, and you could say on average, a loss of 1.29 pounds per week. But some weeks I saw a gain, or no change at all. Just STAY the course. I have learned that bloat happens, poo happens, and even things you do to manage side effects like taking antacids or drinking Liquid IV could possibly cause bloating.

Just stay the course! Things that have been helping me - remembering every quarter pound lost is like losing an entire stick of butter off your body. Liquid IV has been great for energy. I really listen to my "I think I might just be getting full" signals - and stop as soon as that happens.

Overall, symptoms have been real mild. There was one day where I had terrible constipation, and I had to chug down liquid magnesium citrate. That was bad. Since then I've just been taking fiber a few times a week and making sure I have some veggies in my diet (peas have been great, $1 frozen baggie from Walmart). Liquid IV daily, usually just a half pack most days, to help with energy levels. Buy that from Costco when it's on sale to save $$.

I already had my gallbladder out prior to starting Wegovy, so I think I'm used to digestive inconsistency. If anything, Wegovy seems to have helped me a bit - I used to have daily, constant colon blowouts 😅

Clothes are more comfortable. I think I have face gains. My phone's Face ID is starting to have trouble recognizing me! And someone I ran into the other day said, "Huh, you look good!" I was like, "Why?!!" And she said, "I don't know! You just do!"

I can also squeeze back into my old, expensive size 14 ski pants. At least, getting them up to my hips. Can't zip them up yet, but hallelujah.

Back story and stats - have had lifelong struggles with weight, but was always able to keep it under 180-190 lbs. Covid hit, and I shot up to 262. Managed to get down to 242 with tremendous effort, but just had a hard time moving the needle after that, especially compounded with an Achilles tendon injury that won't quit. Female, 5'9" - but with mild scoliosis that if it didn't exist, I'd probably be 5'10 or 5'11. Might be why people always have said "WOW, you don't look like you weigh 180." Gee, thanks!

Hopeful goal is to hit the high end of "healthy" for my height - 160-170. My goal is to be HEALTHY as I just turned forty last year, and I really want to ensure my odds of a good, long life; reduce the chances of achy joints and injuries, and to be able to do more of what I enjoy doing - skiing, camping, crafting, photography, swimming.... especially with my adventurous and athletic partner; and yes, I'll admit, the prospect of looking "hot" while doing those things hasn't escaped me.

If it takes me exactly one year to lose 60 more pounds, I'll be thrilled. We'll see! And yes, I took pictures when I started this journey. Maybe 1 year from now, I'll share with y'all!
