I'm extremely scared I don't want to do this

I've had tonsillitis every month this past year and honestly it's been really rough (right now I can't move because the antibiotics destroyed my stomach) but I've read so many horror stories from the tonsillectomy recovery that I would rather die than go through it.

Does anyone have any words or stories for motivation? I know that I'll have to have the surgery eventually but I'm just extremely scared😭😭
