Endlessly Searching

Hey ladies,

I wanted to start a discussion about the challenges that older, educated Muslim women face when it comes to finding a spouse. As someone in my late 20s, with a postgraduate degree and a thriving career, I have found it increasingly difficult to meet someone who is compatible and shares my values. Honestly, I don’t think my standards are too high. I don’t really care about superficial things like height and looks. I would just prefer to be with someone religious and educated.

I also know that this is a common issue for many women in our community, especially in Canada where there seems to be a larger number of older, educated women who are still single and looking for a partner.

I'd love to hear from others who are in a similar situation - what has been your experience in the search for a husband? Have you felt like there aren’t a lot of men meeting your requirements?

A question for the men: are most men averse to speaking to career-driven/educated women?
