Can earnest money be transferred for another house in the same community by same builder

I have signed for a ready to move in house with Perry homes in Austin this week. Closing date is 12/26. I have paid 3% of the earnest money. We want to take another house which has later closing, will my earnest money be transferred to new house? Will there be any penalties?
