Help, Why I don't have any group of friends.

Nearly all of the students in my class are a part of a group. They share things they do, code and do stuff together.

I don't even have a circle of that kind of friends, despite wanting to have one. I feel so lonely, even individual friendships are not so good. Me and my roommate despite having similar interests, have not even done a single project together. He doesn't want to do, I told him multiple times but no help.

How to tackle this kind of things. I get so discouraged at times but have no one to share with. Can't do anything but curse my fate.
