Why Was Jackie Brown Practically Shut Out The 1998 Oscars?

I get it’s one of Tarantino’s Least Acclaimed Films but I personally Loved It! Especially off the back of Pulp Fiction, I thought it would atleast get adapted screenplay.

I Would Nominate It For:

Best Picture

Best Director

Best Actress - Pam Grier

Best Supporting Actor - Samuel L. Jackson (I Know Forster was nominated and Jackson was out in lead at GG, but I’d personally have him supporting over Forster)

Best Supporting Actress - Bridget Fonda

Best Adapted Screenplay

I was shocked to remember that Pam Grier wasn’t even nominated!

Also wear did the Forster hype come from, he wasn’t even nominated at the Golden Globes and I personally thought Jackson was better and supporting. I assume some people would also put De Niro up there to.

Never heard this brought up but I thought Bridget Fonda was amazing and definitely deserved a nomination.

So anyway what do y’all think, did Jackie Brown deserve to get more nominations and what would you nominate it for?
