What is your opinion about the reincarnations of the children of the Sage of the Six Paths?

I have some doubts and questions when it comes to Naruto & Hashirama being the reincarnation of Ashura and Sasuke & Madara being the reincarnation of Indra.

In my opinion, I found it completely unnecessary, I generally never like things related to prophecies or reincarnations when it is not included at the beginning of the work.

But I have other doubts, how much freedom do people really have? Are Naruto and Sasuke what they are because of their choices or because they have reincarnations or prophecies on their shoulders?
