What are the statistics on Deaths by accident or self Inflicition in the US Military compared to society at large?

It would just be interesting to compare Civilian self-inflicted deaths and accidents to Military statistics. Are there studies done on why these may be higher in the Military? What are the most common accidents taht cause fatalities?
