GP/psych training opportunities/competition for non eu imgs

i am a NON EU mbbs graduate, i have come across a lot of posts and interviews of non eu imgs getting into gp training from their home countries. if anyone has achieved this, what was experience? is the usual allocation process random or is there a criteria for the same. Also is there a bottleneck for IMGs that are non EU for Gp/psych hst training opportunities.
