Poulakidas, not Mbeng, is Ivy Player of the Week; Columbia’s Gerard O’Keefe gets Rookie nod

It’s no surprise that the POW was a Bulldog, given that three players had career nights on the road against second-ranked Cornell. But while hot-shooting Poulakidas scored 32, a career high, against the Big Red, it was Bez Mbeng who made headlines with a triple double, only the second in program history. What’s more, Mbeng also got five steals while holding Nazir Williams to an average night. He led the game in the categories: rebounds, assists, and steals, and his 15 points were nothing to sneeze at.

The pick for ROW was less of a mystery. Gerard O’Keefe scored 22 points in Columbia’s comeback win over Brown, going a blistering 8-of-9 from the field (2-of-3 from downtown).
