Tips on Memorization of Black Letter Law

Help please :)

I know I struggled, and always have, with memorization. Does anyone have tips for how they actually memorized black letter law?

I am retaking the UBE in Feb 25. I sat for the first time in NJ in July 2024. I found the bar exam to be difficult because of the amount of information needing to be memorized. It was so different than law school which almost all courses were open book open notes. I also had taken 5 years since undergrad before going back to law school.

I am not the type of person who can read something and have it stick well, my mind wanders, I have ADHD, I end up having to reread 100 times and then end up not remembering that material anyway. Learning with visuals like goats outlines with meme and the graphics on Themis help, but I know just taking that info is is step one. I did Themis prep my first go around and the UWorld practice questions, about 800, and then reread the reasoning behind the questions. I think that's kind of where I stopped for my first go around at the bar exam. I was super disorganized as far as sticking to a methodology, truly because I don't know how I learn best. I jumped from flash cards, hand writing out rules I missed on a note pad, keeping an excel sheet of questions I missed, I was ALL over the place.

So beyond completing multiple choice, reading goats outlines, does anyone have tips or methods or anything to offer to help this gal learn how to memorize?

I am trying to create my own study plan for success this go around, I'll be taking off work till the exam. I don't want to waste so much time watching lectures on Themis and really try to dive into active learning. If anyone has study plan tips as well id be open.

Thanks!
