Why does everyone seem to hate April?

I’m on my first watch ever. Halfway done season 7.

April is just a kid. Everything that went wrong surrounding her was either her mom or Luke’s doing. Luke gravely mishandled finding out about her, which led to the demise of his relationship with Lorelai. None of that is April’s fault. Unless something wild happens between now and the end of season 7 I genuinely don’t understand the April hate.
