Nail Designs on non-dominant hand.

I’ve heard of people using the magnetic nail stand to do nail art on the gel x tips before applying them to the nail. My question is, I want to do this and then last as long as a set i did while on my hand, but do use the extend gel; the tips have to be clear right? So how would you do the nail art? I have very shakey hands so just “practice” doesn’t do anything
