Heresy: Consecration & Lightning Surge Testing
I haven't seen a lot of data out there pitting these two abilities against each other, but I was curious where each would stand in Heresy. Thus, did some basic testing against Carl to get an idea of where they'll stand tomorrow:
Consecration (Base): 142158
- 107516 (Estimated Post-Nerf)
Consecration (Synthoceps): 376718
- 284917 (Estimated Post-Nerf)
Lightning Surge (Base): 44539
- 54738 (Estimated Post Buff)
Lightning Surge (Necrotic Grips): 132366
- 142565 (Estimated Post Buff)
Lightning Surge (Spirit of Necrotic + Synthoceps): 148010
- 153436 (Estimated Post Buff)
Some key take aways from this:
- While Consecration is definitely taking a big hit, especially at base, adding in Synthoceps retains its position as dealing the most damage in a single ability. Once Heresy arrives, there is no reason not to be using Synthoceps with Consecration. Due to this, brace yourself for Bungie to come after Synthoceps next.
- Lightning Surge is definitely stepping its game up, but it won't compete with Synthoceps in dishing out enough damage to nuke a champion from orbit. You can comfortably use LS to dive into a group of ads in a Grandmaster nightfall and feel confident they'll fall over.
