safest places in Brazil for LGBT+ people?

Hi! I (22f assistant teacher getting an English teaching degree) and my fiancé (23m trans man) are looking to move to Brazil. We're both queer (I'm bisexual), and appear outwardly to be a lesbian couple.

With the general state of things in America, and with him being a 1st Generation Immigrant to the USA (his parents are both Brazillian citizens), he's legally entitled to Brazilian citizenship + knows Portugese.

We were thinking the best move for us as a couple would be for me to finish my English degree and for us to move to Brazil together; our research so far points to Florianópolis as one of the best places to live in Brazil in general and for LGBT+ people (+ according to Google the crime rate is actually better than where we already live in the USA; Baltimore) Is this accurate? Are there other places we should be looking? Thank you so much in advance!
