Is this normal for a dermaplane?

I have been dermaplaning for years, but had to get a new aesthetician due to relocation. I really like them, but my face has ended up really scratched up 2/4 times I have gone. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m getting older (I’m in my early 40s) or if I am just expecting too much.
